In the world of fiber art, possible combinations of materials and production techniques are endless.

Thus far, my personal production style is based on the idea of which materials best complement each other in a way that brings joy and playfulness to my work. There is no set process, rather I feel out the shape of what I want to create.

about

Nobuko Tsuruta is a Japanese fiber artist who is based in New York City.

“Weaving is my meditation. When I sit in front of the loom, I see different parts of

myself manifest themselves in my work. Weaving became an introspective

activity for me, and a curiosity about how I subconsciously represented myself in

my pieces fueled my work.”
